South Africa Climate Network
The South Africa Climate Network unites thought leaders, innovators, policymakers, and grassroots champions dedicated to advancing climate action. Tying together solution creators and policy makers, our community aims to build a movement for climate action across the country.
Our story
The South Africa Climate Network is our newest chapter and aims to unite climate professionals across South Africa. Co-Founder Caitlin Wale started hosting ‘Climate Coffees’ during 2024 and quickly built up a vibrant group in Cape Town. When the Earthshot Awards came to South Africa in November 2024, ‘Climate Coffees’ and The Climate Network decided to join forces – helping to support the growth of the local community whilst tapping into the potential and opportunities offered by the larger network group.
We are actively looking for more local co-Founders based in South Africa to complete our co-founding team. We’re looking for a mix of geographical focus – ensuring we look beyond just Cape Town – climate expertise and personal backgrounds. Check out ‘Start a Chapter’ if you’re interested to help lead South Africa’s climate movement!
Our work
Our activities will be fully up and running from early 2025 – from regular networking events for climate-focused professionals, to a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing, and finding ways to collectively contribute to building South Africa’s climate ecosystem. Watch this space!
