The Climate Network Story

We believe that a collaborative ecosystem of actors will solve the climate crisis faster and more effectively. We bring together communities of climate professionals across different chapters to catalyse and accelerate climate action and solutions across Africa.

In 2021, we began hosting small gatherings in Nairobi where climate professionals could connect and start new partnerships — especially valuable after the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each event brought more voices and perspectives, and the network grew to exceed 1,000 active members after just 2 years.

By 2023, the impact of the network had captured the attention of policymakers. The Kenyan government approached us to provide insights on the Climate Change Amendment Act and to support the Africa Climate Summit.

We saw the potential for something even greater: a professional climate network not just for Kenya, but for communities across Africa. We wanted to share our model to empower and connect local climate leaders, and create a continent-wide community for climate action.
